Wundaire
I live in Greytown in the Wairarapa with my husband and two very young sons. It's such a beautiful little town, only a couple of thousand people and a great place to raise children. We cycle everywhere.
In 2014 when I was living in Auckland I took a 10-week course at the local ceramic club and learnt a variety of techniques, but hand building was the style of making that appealed most to me. Gradually over the next three years ceramics took over my life and became my full-time gig.
I make functional ceramics with a focus on colour and a lighthearted playfulness, primarily hand built from stoneware clay coloured with stains. I love that clay is a totally open medium of form and colour, the options are endless. With so many different ways of producing ceramics there is always so much more to learn and experiment with. - Felicity Donaldson
