Nurture Earth

I live with my whānau in sunny Gisborne out on the East Coast. We love the relaxed lifestyle here. The climate is great for growing, there are lots of beautiful beaches and a thriving creative community.

We are a small family-run business with a focus on sustainability. We are proud of our kaupapa in caring for the earth and being sustainable in our living. We are establishing a permaculture homestead with a food forest and small-scale cut flower market garden.

We began making smoke sticks three years ago when the property we were renting had white sage growing. Being a lover of flowers and herbs I decided to start adding flora to them and that’s also when I got the flower bug - harvesting and drying anything and everything I could find. Our smoke sticks are ethically harvested by hand then handcrafted from white sage grown in our garden, made in small batches to ensure our plants thrive. All of the ingredients are grown on our property or collected from within our neighbourhood.

My garden journey began when I studied sustainable horticulture 10 years ago with an amazing mentor who installed in me a love of nature and respect for our living world. I love that I get to work with and surround myself with the most beautiful, healing and energetically uplifting plants and share that vibe with others. There is so much abundance to be had from nature, it truly is such a gift. - Bridget Scully, Nurture Earth
